Specialized engineer who looks after the integrity of plant from a fluid containment, loss prevention perspective requiring an in depth chemical engineering skills. The role requires an understanding of the process, the equipment layout, the flow regime, regulatory and process safety implications. The Process Safety Engineer will provide specialist expertise in the understanding, assessment and active management of major accident hazards and risks.
- Provide technical assistance to the business on process safety hazard management.
- Provide risk assessment and technical expertise to the business in the area of fire and gas (F&G) detection and suppression system and loss prevention.
- Support major accident assessment activities for the business.
- Support the Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) process and action item closure.
- Support Process Safety Management compliance.
- Lead HAZIDs & HAZOPs.
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical/Process Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience within area of plant process operations in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
- Willing to work in remote location and rotational work schedule.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication.
- Conversant with microsoft office.
- Detailed experience of international process safety standards.
- Experience of consequence modeling (dispersion, radiant heat, blast).
- Has a strong technical report writing skills.
- Demonstrate track record of working well with regulatory agencies and co workers.
