Role synopsisSupport project line management in delivery of BP’s HSSE requirements
Key accountabilities- Work with project leadership to take action to develop and maintain culture and behaviors that enable safe, responsible and reliable projects
- Develop HSSE expectations and requirements for projects consistent with the regional practices & Global Project (GPO) standards including bridging and interfaces among them
- Promote standardization and simplification of HSSE plans, processes and procedures
- Communicate BP HSSE requirements to the project team and ensure development and timely delivery of HSSE and process safety deliverables as required by OMS and the MPcp HSSE guideline
- Establish HSE competency requirements for key safety critical positions and HSSE training requirements and plan for the projects
- Develop HSSE management plan project that articulates how HSSE risks will be systematically identified, assessed and mitigated
- Provide assurance to Project, Operations and S&OR divisions that the Project Execution Plan & contracting strategy is aligned with BP’s expectations and standards on risk management
- Report and investigate incidents in conformance with GPO incident reposting and investigation requirements
- Analyze collective results of incidents investigations to identify trends in immediate and system causes
- Implement process to screen and select contractors based on combination of their capability, contractor employee competency, financial viability and HSSE performance
- Maintain an independent view of S&O risk. Assure projects are mitigated, learning from phase 1 is applied, and the bridging and/or interfaces are established with respective technical authorities
Essential EducationAt minimum bachelor degree in Engineering from reputable university
Essential experience and job requirements- 15 years relevant work experience, within major Oil and Gas company
- Hold NEBOSH or equvalent qualification
- Experienced in delivering to, or exceeding company HSE expectations on multi billion dollar projects
- Experienced with contruction and large operation within multi-disciplinary teams and third party service providers
- Able to manage brownfield work scopes and understanding of how major accident risk criteria can be used to plan safe execution
Desirable criteria & qualifications- Able to assess contractor ability and providing necessary tools to ensure contractor can meet project expectations
- Knowledgable in logistics, production or drilling operations, contractor managements and working with third party service providers

- Advice, to inform segment portfolio decisions.
Significant value is created in the front end of projects where we optimize the development concept with multi-disciplinary input, and a standardized model will ensure that we performance manage the developments to ensure that we continuously improve. .
The goal of the GPO is to deliver sustainable efficiency improvement, close the learning loop with Operations, and to deliver functional performance into GPO Projects.
