Role synopsisReporting to the Onshore/Nearshore Engineering Team Leader, the H&M Project Engineer will be a key member of the delivery team for the infrastructure and marine scope on the Tangguh Expansion Project (TEP). The Project Engineer will provide the principal point of contact between the TEP and all other parties engaged to execute the design and construction of the marine infrastructure works.
Key accountabilitiesThe Project Engineer will be required to:
• Represent the TEP in the pre-FEED Contractors’ design offices.
• Participate in discussions with regulatory bodies as required.
• Represent the TEP in discussions with Tangguh Marine Operations and other Operations groups as required to ensure that consensus is reached in order to mutually satisfy their respective requirements.
• Provide the principal point of liaison for the marine operations staff and personnel at the Tangguh.
• Represent the TEP in the FEED/EPC Contractor’s offices.
• Provide the principal point of liaison between TEP, the marine operations staff, and the EPC contractor during construction activities.
• Ensure that all marine construction vessels and floating craft are inspected and approved for use at the site.
Essential EducationBachelor's degree in related engineering
Essential experience and job requirementsThe Project Engineer shall have the following skills and experience:
• At least 10 years proven experience in the project engineering and construction management of marine civil and mechanical engineering works.
• Project engineering experience, supervising contractors' execution of engineering design, fabrication, transportation and construction in the oil and gas industries, especially in the execution of nearshore marine facilities.
• The experience and ability to represent an owner organisation in a Contractor's design office.
• A good understanding of marine structures, including jetties and shore protection works.
• A good understanding of the marine activities conducted by oil/gas marine operations teams and of the potential interfaces with construction activities in their vicinity.
Other essential skills and knowledgeThe Project Engineer shall possess the ability to define and prioritise issues and solve problems through networking with other team members or external sources.
The Project Engineer shall have strong planning skills, and be highly motivated with the ability to achieve goals.
The Project Engineer shall be innovative and challenging in identifying opportunities to reduce costs and schedule.
The Project Engineer shall have a proven track record as a team player and shall possess excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to interface effectively with people of all levels, both internal and third parties, and with wide ranging cultural backgrounds.
Desirable criteria & qualificationsThe Project Engineer shall
• Possess and be able to to demonstrate a strong HSE awareness.
• Possess an Indonesian passport.
• Be fluent in written and spoken English.
• Be willing and able to travel both within Indonesia and internationally.
• Be qualified to degree level in civil or mechanical engineering, or in a similar related discipline
• The Project Engineer should, in addition:
• Be a member of a professional engineering body (eg IEI - The Institution of Engineers, Indonesia; ICE - UK Institution of Civil Engineers; ASCE - American Society of Civil Engineers.)
• Have a knowledge of the LNG industry.
